aina.org/news/20141031165715.htm Kurds threaten Assyrians and our history everywhere , not just north Iraq (heart of Assyria), while our gabbeh, political parties continue on pecking at each other, and some of our people blindly supporting a leader with no Assyrian agenda/cause, who has turned us into generic Christians with no name, hence the reason why every damn Kurd I see refers to us and our language as Messihi and while our lands and rights continue being robbed. Every Kurdish cab driver or shop worker I encounter that realizes I dont speak Kurdish or Arabic, refers to me as messihi (Christian), and I correct them every time by saying, Az Ashurema Ava Ashuri, Zaneh Ashuri, na masihi. In that cab ride video I posted, I asked the Kurdish driver, he spoke some english., what do they teach you in school about the history of this land? He said he doesnt know how to answer that. I told him your Kurdistan is our Ashuristan. We have a history of over 7000 years here, then I told him what Arbil and Ninweh mean, and how they were the capitals of our empire. He was a bit bewildered, but friendly in his response. I must say there are many Assyrians here catering to that label stamped on us messihi/mesiheen, by not correcting Kurds when they call us that. I hold you all responsible. Represent Assyria with pride and never bow down to the enemy! Respect & Honor! Show it, get it!
