although ive written over 700 sings (stopped counting long ago).. ive never once tried or purposely attempted to write a song in my life. last week, a friend asked me to write a christmas song for inclusion on a christmas album. i said yes, I would love to (meanwhile, now what? I wouldnt even know where to begin when it comes to trying to write a song.) I am at a complete loss and I have a deadline of Sept. 27th to have it ready to record!!! I was hoping so bad this thing would just come to me, as they always do. Last night, driving to practice, on the Long Island Expressway... I wrote the song, lyrics and music... in my head. It came to me complete as it always does. When I had a moment this a.m., I grabbed this little nylon string guitar and pen and paper and withdrew the lyrics and music from my brain. In any event... here it is. what christmas is for.
