an AMAZING evening last night in South Pasadena, 9/27/SA MAKING MUSIC with Luis Perez in our project - THE INFINITE EXPANSION OF SOUND. Non stop MUSIC MAKING in a great room with a great crowd, where you could hear people breathing during the silences, the SILENCE as profound, if not more profound than the actual MUSIC. Being able to be at this moment in time and being able to have access to such great instruments and being able to devote 8 to 12 hours per week with a MUSICO with such a long history of serious and studios research for rehearsals has been amazing. Anything can be done with WILLINGNESS and little else, but willingness cannot be instilled or rehearsed, you are either willing or you are not In the moment at the moment - with intention, intensity, and brutal honesty. The sound of our ancestors and BEYOND permeates the space and lifts the whole room up. Not because of us, but in spite of us, we have little to do with it........ Getting out of the way and letting THE MUSIC come thru a very humbling, and quite remarkable EXPERIENCE never the same way once THANKFUL to THE SUPREME and MI FAMILIA for allowing me the time and the space and Luis for being WILLING!!!!!!!!!
