an update from my daughter in law on my grand sons progress Micheal Smith is doing pretty good today everyone. Shaun and I had to make a quick trip home today to take care of business at home. When we went to see him this morning he was pretty aware of his surroundings he squeezed our hands and was nodding and shaking his head to answer questions and make likes and dislikes known. He leaked some tears from his eyes when we told him we had to leave him for the day and tried to put his arms up to hug us he also tried to put his hand to my face to wipe away my tears because I was crying when he was. He also tried to form the words I love you around his ventilator tube he does smile when he is happy about some thing and he is now aware when they lighten the sedation enough but the nurses and docs say he is slowly getting better every day. It is going to be a long process though. I know some would like me to call them but I have so many people that I have to call every day that dont have internet to let them know how he is like my mom and my grandparents and great aunts and uncles by the time I get done I am completely exhausted that is why I am keeping everyone informed this way. Please understand if i could call each and every person I would but it takes a lot out of me emotionally to even talk about Micheal..Thank every one that has prayed for him. you will know how much it has meant to us.
