andBeyond’s WILDchild programme not only aims to educate - TopicsExpress

andBeyond’s WILDchild programme not only aims to educate children about our planet and the importance of conservation, but it also introduces them to the local cultures, traditions and folklore of the area. Parents can relax and unwind while their children are happily entertained, or they can join in for some all-round family fun. At andBeyond Klein’s Camp in Tanzania, young safari enthusiasts enjoy time with the rangers learning how to identify spoor and droppings and collecting leaves, feathers and bark. They also join the chefs in the kitchen to help bake cookies and cupcakes for afternoon tea. But it’s the quality time spent with the Maasai warriors that really gets the kids excited. From traditional spear throwing and shooting bows and arrows, to learning how to make fire the Maasai way and then proudly roasting marshmallows on that fire, the budding rangers-to-be and young Maasai warriors-in-training return home with a wealth of new knowledge and an appreciation for different cultures. Now that’s a million times better than a day in the classroom and far more valuable than the text in all of their schoolbooks combined. andBeyond
