anthony daly admitted his dublin team are poorer when danny sutcliffe isnt around to inspire them. the all star forward shot 1-5 on saturday to ease dublins relegation fears after defeats in galway and waterford. the repeat of last summers championship win came six days after the leinster champions loss in waterford when sutcliffe was missing. and the st judes man showed exactly how important he is with a stunning display of pace and shooting upon his return. his 1-4 scoring burst in the first half resulted in experienced cats defender tommy walsh being subbed at half time. and it helped dublin open up a 10 point lead that they used as a cushion when the cats rallied after the break. dubs boss daly said in fairness to danny hes a good one. he was picked for an all star last year and fair play, he deserved it. hes a big loss to us when hes not there. i thought some of dannys points were fantastic. sutcliffe himself said the team are blowing hot and cold after winning both of their home games and losing their two away ties.they retain a fighting chance of reaching the 1/4 finals ahead of sundays trip to tipp. so far were hot and cold and we have to get over that. five games is all you have in division 1a so the margin for error is small. weve got to get it sorted and get consistent.
