anyone out there in rescue world heard of contraception for dogs and cats. pill form. could it be used for ferals to prevent unwanted litters or control a cat colony? the landfill problem isnt going away. I cannot legally trap them and spay/neuter and re-release them. county hasnt come up with a solution. the county needs to hire an animal control officer to trap and euthanize them or get a vet out there to tranquilize them and then euthanize them. and there are two of them I dont think you could ever get to go in a trap. tranquilizing them would be a nightmare cause it takes a while to take effect an there are so many hidey holes for them to go into. I just havent been able to come up with any good solutions. maybe if we could dose them with contraceptive pills to prevent more litters until the county could decide what they were going to do about them. havent been able to find any place where it has been done. anyone have info on it?
