anyone who has ever read my blogs knows I am a big fan of my mom. She is a big part of my life and is very supportive of me. I share some of the tidbits of times with her because it gives me joy and smiles. I am storing all these memories because I know someday I will have to use them often. That being said, please know when I share these tidbits, its not in anyway cutting or disrespecting her. She would most likely agree with everything I share. so....Mom joined me at the ranch to help keep me company while I was up there along for 10 days. She woke most mornings with the whip in her hand. :) Most mornings before 7am it was.....what are we doing today, what job do you have for me? We made our way through this and she came home to spend Thanksgiving week with us. We had a lovely time of shopping, cooking and packing to get back to the ranch. We left Black Friday, which traditionally was a day where she and I would get up at 4 in the morning and hit the stores. This time, we got on the road for the ranch. Mom is a goer and a get er done kind of woman. Rest is for the wicked or lazy so that gives you a clue. 7:19 am what are we doing today? she asked as she crawled from her bed as Blue woke her. Mom, I said, please let me have a cup of coffee. Times a wasting, why dont I get started. SHE ISNT EVEN ASKING FOR COFFEE (oh my goodness.......) I am trying to suck it up, I am so tired. So I take my coffee, head upstairs and started prepping and painting what will be my craft room. I am up on a ladder and around 11 am say to her, mom, do you have the time??? Mom is cleaning all the heater and intake vents and says, a dime??? no I have my paint clothes on. No Mom, not a dime, the time, a clock, the time... I say a bit louder. What do you need a dime for, let me finish the cleaning then I will check for you. (I know she is thinking what the hell does she need a dime for, shes on a ladder painting!) and so goes the weekend. (Mike came in laughing and told me the time) Lord love her, she encouraged us through more work then we would have tried to get through, by Sunday morning I decided to find Christmas music and turned it up fairly loud. Singing my way through the second coat of my very beautiful looking craft room now, I joined in the song, Ill be home for Christmas, you can count on me.... now its known I am a very enthusiastic singer but not good at all, but when I finished, she looked up and said.... Ive always loved when a man sang that song! Mike choked with laughter and I just hung onto the ladder, just shoot me
