ari Attends Special Classes For Christian Hymns, Praise Songs. Presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) is set to begin special classes in Christian praise -songs and hymns aimed at equipping him during campaign exercises, the Nigerian Pilot Sunday reports. Meanwhile the Christian community, nationwide, has been cautioned of his desperation and urged to be wary of recent friendly posture with the faithful. A former agent to Gen Buhari in 2003, when he contested the presidential election on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, and now chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, disclosed this to our correspondent. “It is indeed worrisome that Gen. Buhari has become very desperate to win the presidency, hence his overture to the church, where I gathered he is now being taught how to sing Christian songs, which he will sing during campaigns,” a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Agbonayinma, explained. He said “This is patently unacceptable as this dubious romance runs contrary to Buhari’s antecedents and the records of his public positions and declarations on the issue of religion. According to him, “This is a man who had, in the past, cared less about hurting the sensibilities of Christians with his fanatical disposition about Muslim religion. “He said in August 27, 2001 that he would ‘continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria,’ and was quoted to have further declared, ‘God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country.’ “Again, on January 20, 2002 in Gusau at the closing ceremony of the 16th National Qur’anic Recitation competition, ahead of the 2003 elections, he had called on Muslims across the country to vote only for the presidential candidate that would defend and uphold the tenets of Islam.” Agbonayinma noted that it would be dangerous for the Christian communities to entrust for protection the secularity of Nigeria into Buhari’s hand as he would turn round to pursue his ancient plan to Islamise Nigeria. “The Christian communities should not be taken in by the deceptive campaign by General Buhari to be fair to them. He is incapable of being fair to all in matters of religion. He is a fanatical Muslim, who believes in the Islamisation of Nigeria, the candidate for Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency seat in the February 14, 2015 National Assembly election, further stated. He appealed to the Christian communities nationwide not to make the mistake of embracing General Buhari because they will regret their action, saying that: “I know Buhari fairly well. I was his agent in 2003, when he contested the presidential election on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP. “At 72, what does he now have to offer? He truncated democratic governance at 41. His colleagues overthrew him 18 months after because of his corrupt tendencies, high-handedness and double standards in the governance of the nation. “This same man who truncated a democratically elected government has been desperately seeking to be elected as president and using all manner of stratagem including a dubious overture to the Christian communities to achieve his goal after three previous failed attempts. He should be told that Nigeria does not have a place for a religious bigot and a divisive character in her presidency.” He however urged the Christian communities nationwide not to be deceived by General Muhammadu Buhari’s overture on them, adding that the unholy and questionable romance with the church is only aimed at securing its critical support in the 2015 presidential election and nothing more.
