Although her art career has been primarily about printmaking, Heather is painting more - incorporating some printmaking techniques into her mixed media paintings along with images from her garden, travels and everyday household objects. “Parlour Games” has a personal message for her. It holds passionate images that evoke her past, a sense of time being stripped away like layers of wall paper, jigsaw puzzle pieces waiting to fit together in what is gutsy, glorious, failing and hopeful in human nature. Organic objects have enormous strength and bounce, and she plays with that life force in her art.
