as i look back at this year, its been so much to learn and it came so fast and here we are days from november. the biggest lesson i have learned this year is the trap we all get thrust into especially men with being strong. being strong sometimes turns into not admitting fault, ignorance, hurt, fatigue. being strong turns into fighting ourselves and others to the bitter end. and like rosie perez said in white men cant jump: sometimes when you win, you really lose. sometimes when you lose, you really win. i got it now. showing others our weaknesses and mistakes times of being down, struggling or suffering as those in boston did during the bombing of that marathon, is a precursor for god to show us all what we are able to do when we wipe our tears, brush dirt off our shoulders, get up, get back into the mix of life, find a new love, etc. but if we cant accept due to fear embarassment frontin shame or self-hatred the fact that its alright to need help, its okay to not know something we should, its cool to laugh at our imperfections with modesty and still strive to refine ourselves we can see why admitting expressing and displaying weakness is often hidden avoided denied and objected to. its a habit many of us grew up learning to keep others from offending our sense of self-esteem, honor and face. but the contrary must be done to affect mastery of self and by in large others, too. be confident. be brave. be strong. but, allow yourself to maintain a balance with occasional weakness. like those beard the red sox and their faithful have donned this season to symbolize unity, weakness is something universal and timeless we all share in different degrees. from dust our creator shaped us in his image and upon returning to him dust we shall be once more under this earth. #hagdfamily
