asking for warm thought and prayers for Major Barbara Gray. she is in hospice care for end stage breast cancer and renal failure. she went before us as a physical therapist and was the first medical specialist corps officer purposely sent to an active combat zone. she volunteered to be the first corps member assigned to the 17th field hospital in vietnam in 1966. she worked as a physical therapist and trained others. she left large shoes to fill and blazed an awesome trail for other women and medical specialist corps officers of both genders. maybe we can carry some of the pain for her and give her a gentler passing. thanks.
