at such a loss. how did elvis pale in comparison to seeing and old, very dear friend? i mean yeah, Erik IS the show, but as for Elvis,the show was fine. UGH! for me to say an Elvis Costello show was fine isnt fair. I really feel kinda robbed, He didnt try very hard, barely played any older shit (except Alison, which you can hear at the supermarket and I Want You, which used to be one of my favorite EC songs til he played it live 8 out of 9 times that Ive seen him (which I disagree with, wholeheartedly; it seems too personal a song to just throw on a setlist for idiots). not complaining, I love seeing him, I just... felt empty when I walked out. Not fair. What WAS awesome, though, was that the guy across the aisle and I had a weird, unspoken agreement that made us hold hands through certain songs. No words, no more communication than looks and being human. THAT was fkng beautiful. After the show, he walked me downstairs, we exchanged pleasantries and parted ways. THAT was really fkng cool.
