at the insistence of several folks ( Sole Mendez chief among them) I decided to be game and enter the #TinyDeskConcert contest -- along with, likely every other independent musician in America. but our entry is special -- why? reason, the first: our bassist Dan Asher is away, so we did it as a duo. reason, the second: we did it as a duo in the beautiful sun room of Andrew Gillespies place in Sunset Park (complete with cars and, likely puzzled, pedestrians walking by). reason, the third: we press-ganged Betsy Ranum (and her tiny giraffe) into taking part the giraffe as eye-candy. Betsy was the videographer -- without her, this would be a video of our taping toes and the various intricacies of the apartment floor). and finally, because it gives me a chance to send a formal #alienlovesong to #NPR, which is probably the place they really belong, in any case. props to public radio. #livebymusic https://youtube/watch?v=yNSupxbOHrE&feature=youtu.be
