back again.wow that last one posted in 2 sec..satellite must have been passing over. Our main destination of our tour was the tiki ceremonial grounds. These tikis are the oldest and largest in French Polynesia. Because of Friedas knowledge we were educated on their ancient rites...these grounds were mainly used as burial grounds which could take 6 to 12 months. Those that were worthy or invited by the priest would set up huts and be their until the burial processes was complete. They would build a canoe for the body then take it up to a cave in the mountains...we finished our visit in Paupaw with a traditional lunch. You must call ahead because they prepare all the food in their home. They have a building close by with tables for the customers. Our lunch started with star fruit juice, passion cru( fish marinated in lime juice and coconut milk) fried bananas, rice, marinated pork and goat..dessert was banana poi and coconut cake with a cup of vanilla bean coffee. It was all delicious... As I am writing this the cargo ship arrived. This is the one that is half cargo the other half is cruise ship. Now a pallet is being dropped off in front of us with a horse in it..I am sure he is happy to be off the ship. So the tour was very good and the history lesson we got of the island was excellent. Yesterday we started off early with a walk into town with True Blue 5 To go to the cemetery ...same people we hiked with in Santa Rosilia...beautiful view of the city and bay..but we were all looking forward to a stop at their one food truck for banquette sandwiches. We had the complete. It came with ham, scrambled eggs, cheese,French fries and a special sauce on a fresh baguette yummy....hey it is a 45 min walk in to town another 45 back we needed nourishment..well we have better communication with the FedEx people....still looks like a day or two more. If we can get a confirmation and it is still a few days we will pull anchor and come back for it.Provisioning has been good.but expensive by our standards..but we had heard that. A case of Hanino beer $77 American have to decided what your priorities are. We found tins or butter from New Zealand..good for storage, our favorite Arnotts biscuits from Aus also good french butter jam and of course bread. We expected more from the cheese selection but maybe that will be in Papeete. Well my back is getting tried leaving against the wall at our cruisers office. So I will close for now..thanks for all your good wishes and following us along..xxoo Joyce
