Mary xxx _____ This October, ITVs Lorraine show is appealing to the women of Britain to donate their unwanted bras as part of their Bin Your Bra campaign. Coinciding with breast cancer awareness month, many well known celebrities, including Barbara Windsor, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne and Dawn OPorter have already given their bras to be recycled, in order to raise vital funds for our research into the disease. Bin Your Bra campaign Michelle Heaton fronting the campaign said Im thrilled to be part of Lorraines Bin Your Bra campaign. All of us have bras in our drawer that we no longer wear so what better reason than to donate them to a great cause. For the campaign women will be asked to take their unwanted bras along to special Lorraine bins at House of Fraser stores, from where they will be sent to developing countries in Africa. As with our Bra Bank recycling scheme, Against Breast Cancer will receive £1000 for every tonne collected. Highlighting the fact that the the nations women definitely do have a spare bra, or two, to donate to the campaign, a Lorraine/elleuk survey found that 1 in 3 women own more than 10 bras, with 75% admitting that they own bras they have not worn in over a year! The Osbournes make a donation From Tuesday 1st October, Lorraines Bin Your Bra campaign, will feature on the programme over a two week period during which viewers will hear from high profile women affected by the disease, including International artist Anastacia who said lm donating my bra for the Lorraine campaign. This is an amazing concept, raising money and awareness for a cause so close to my heart. Ladies, bin your bra and help make a difference. Singer Linda Nolan will appearing on the show and Dr Hilary Jones will be visiting the Against Breast Cancer Research Unit to understand the latest research as well as carrying out a live breast examination. Barbaras joining in Commentating on the campaign, Lorraine Kelly said Our Bin Your Bra campaign is a great way to help Against Breast Cancers important and ongoing research into the disease, whilst also getting rid of those unused bras in the back of your underwear drawers. Ive got quite few to donate - so come on ladies, Bin your Bra!
