botox day today. which means that the doctor puts a needle in my arm down to a muscle, and put electric current on it. She repeats that over and over again until she finds the right muscle, by seeing it twitching. pleasent? not directly. when she has found the right muscle she injects a small amount of botox into the muscle to slightly paralyse it. why? the muscle fibers who have no connection to my will, tend to be tightened all the time, pulling my left hand into a fist constantly. that is very unpractical. So by making the muscles weaker i can apply will power to the opposite muscles, and stretch the fingers, which is much more practical than a fist. therefore this procedure is performed every 4:th month until finally the brain agrees on that a clenched hand is very unpractical. We did the same with some of the toes, since I have a tendency to trip on my own toes. Now I just have to intensly train and stretch out my hand to make it flat.
