brothers/sisters, I wish to draw our attention to this important issue; when we were growing up as kids in primary school in the then (old) kwara state which comprise of (present day) kogi state, Ebira language was being taught side by side with Yoruba language in virtually all the primary schools. Just like our Yoruba counterparts, we were able to read and write in Ebira language, infact I still proudly and carefully kept some of the textbooks we used in Ebira language safe in my private library...the unfortunate thing is that, that aspect of our heritage has not only being neglected and forgotten but it has been lost! Reading and writing in local dialect is the most important part of the HERITAGE of any PEOPLE. We lost touch with our HISTORY and our ROOT as Anebira, due to the fact that we have lost the most important part of our HERITAGE wherein the solution to our much craved PEACE truely lies...more than 98% of our youths do not even know that we have our own perculiar Anebira ALPHABETS. If we really wish to break loose from economic bondage, political slavery and the second-class status which is sadly currently our fate in kogi state,we need to give due priorities to more important things...an army of passionate and highly knowledgeable Ezianebira intellectuals will soon be inaugurated to champion this noble course. When wise men standby and do nothing, some things which shouldnt be forgotten would be lost Stand up to be counted in an effort to #bringbackourheritage
