can you explain why? Nowadays I feel that the conservatives and the tea party has become as populist and isolationist as the leftists, just because his agendas on one or two things maybe different than the mainstream conservative agendas, doesnt mean that you should target him with whatever insult and character assassination you can come up with. These actions are destroying the very foundation of the republican party, severely dividing the GOP and if this trend continues, the GOP will lose both the house and the senate and no GOP presidential candidate will ever succeed because any candidate from either one of the parties will need not only all the votes he or she can get from his/her own party, but also votes from the rival party in order to win, by attacking the moderate republicans you are pushing more of the GOPers to the left and with destruction of the GOP and once America becomes a single party state, America will be destroyed because then the radical left will dismantle whats left of America. I personally think Sen McCain is a brave patriot who wants to serve America the best way he can, but his views need upgrade on certain issues and still, much of the criticism against his views is due to lack of knowledge the facts Sen McCain knows and sees that his critics dont. For example in case of Syria, he was right when the civil war started that the Islamists will take over if America dont fully back the secular opposition, he is still right that there are still secular and moderate forces (such as the Kurds) among the Syrian opposition that deserve Americas support and if supported and empowered, Americas long term interests will be better protected, however he is too trusting of some of the groups there that I do not trust and think he should be more specific about which groups to back. The upside of having a GOPer like McCain in the senate has been his ability to convince the democratic majority senate to vote in favor of many of the GOP origin bills, even in cases that Obama opposed them, specially many bills on national security and foreign policy ground such as Iran sanctions that the Obama administration was trying to undermine but the dems in the senate followed Sen. McCain and Sen. Kirks leads and voted in favor of those GOP bills. Criticism of ones policies or views is different than non-stop insults and attacks on the person , instead of his views or policies. America is a republic which means diversity, differences in views and opinions and individualism is respected and protected, if you are trying to shut down a person because of minor differences in opinion instead of rationally criticizing the persons stance on those certain issues, your actions are against anything that America stands for, I see very little difference between the leftist character assassinations and dirty attacks on McCain in 2008 and on Romney in 2012 and what I am seeing from some of the conservatives who are cannibalizing members of their own party like this that will have no gain for the GOP and will only further isolate and weaken the foundations of not only the GOP, but America itself.
