A former chairman and treasurer of the Scottish Labour Party described Darlings position as untenable and said that [Darling] certainly shouldnt be in the Cabinet.[25] On 1 June 2009, Darling apologised unreservedly about a mistaken claim for £700, and had agreed to repay the money.
