Today I received the following notice of the upcoming public hearing in front of the County Commission regarding the Pan Am Headquarters Building better known to us as the ‘Taj Mahal’. Needless to say it is important that we have a good showing of former Pan Am employees there. If you care about preserving history for future generations please make a serious effort to be there and wear your uniform or Pan Am tea shirt. Aviations appeal of the Countys Historic Preservation Boards decision to designate the Pan Am Headquarters Building has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 3rd. The item will probably be heard late morning, somewhere between 9:30 am and noon. The public hearing is in front of the County Commission. Having as many people there in support of the designation will make a difference. The County Commission meets at the Stephen P. Clark Center (Government Center), located at 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, FL 33128. The commission chambers are on the second floor, up the escalator in the lobby between the elevator banks. Please spread the word to everyone Pan Am and friends!
