cinema rant they appear broken appendages of the day’s events slowly ushered in communication systems turned off down the aisle they make their way with popcorn, soda, candy and all that other good shit looking for a row with no one else in seated as the house lights dim traumatized from being exposed out there desiring to escape the state of their world with its instantaneous satellite news social media , everyone’s view all our senses constantly plugged in— buttons pushed. infectious conflict administered intravenously like a drug from a conduit that may as well be embedded into our skin so much is on the table so much debate so much to absorb and analyse so much bullying so much killing having to decipher falsehood from truth the world has become a smaller place with diverse cultural ideologies clashing as they merge contracting and expanding at a rampant crazed pace the weak purged in the surge avoiding the fallout becomes a balancing act with industrialist and their politicians fearing loss of power and significance what’s that you say? the show has begun? I do apologize — now, let’s digress and settle in. popcorn? and, the audience— well, they’re taking it all in attentive from the beginning of the reel to its end investing emotion like the director intended with the pizzazz the message is “sinking in” with greater gravity than evolving events evoked by CNN images and catch phrases like stones thrown at our psyche consumed, analysed, regurgitated and debated informants, activists and rubbernecker’s mover and shaker’s— all like the pro’s weigh in as our world spins in perpetual sin with weaponries, ammunitions in the charge of egocentrics and the misinformed which sadly, is in essence what will sustain us catastrophe’s are going to happen if WE ALLOW IT the curtain has been drawn like a line in the sand as the house-lights are switched on signifying the fantasy is (( ( Poof ! ) )) gone they appear broken appendages of the night’s event slowly ushered outside again communications turned on. venturing off to dissolve into obscurity digested by the masses and reality. © 2014 David W.
