cinque terre riomaggiore italy these are the kinds of places one usually likes to look at after the weekend eh? at least me. so this place has been on my list for a long time. I strated towards here after I fled from rome. Yes...fled. its a nightmare driving and getting around in Rome. I love it..but hate it and it was time to just go at a slower pace. Anyway, as you get there you go thru these crazy windy roads. hair pin turns, the other cars nearly scraping by you. It can take 2 hours to go 14 miles at times cause you spend the entire time making turns. then...you finally come to the small little train station. take the short trip over. meanwhile the Mediterranean sea is smiling at you the entire time. then you get there, I remember on this particular day the vending machine stole my money for a sandwich..in fact..every vending machine stole my money...I seem to be a gluten for punishment in that rguards over there. anyway, make my way thru a tunnel to get to the little city. Now, I had my jaw drop quite a few times but this place was so beautiful it was over whelming. the type of place where everyone is freindly glad to be there. And the palce is exaclty how it looks. not touristy, no huge souvenir shops. little walk ways. littel shops, littel places to eat. not to mention its 100s of years old. This is not some attraction...its a functional fishing community. its one fothe few places I finally had to give in to my camera and jsut shoot. in fact...everwhere you looked it was one more oh..I gotta get that. until it was like...ok. chill. ended up finding some people to have a drink with. then the bar tender came out and said we might want to catch our train soon becasue the train workers where going on strike. so..we said our goodbyes and we were off. but yes...I will go back and definetly one of my favorite places on earth. I found it impossible myself to even think of a black and white photo here...the color is just to captivating.
