cleaning off the desktop: this is FAMOUS MONSTERS, a band i worked with on estrus for a while. they dressed up as monsters and knocked out great original garage rock tunes while dressed as monsters. they put out a single and a cd on estrus before they were forced to change their name (Famous Monsters of Filmland issued a cease & desist) and they had to chang their name to FANTASTIC MONSTERS (or something) and vanished. they were a pretty great act/band while they were around. Famous Monsters consisted of Sean Yseult, Bob Bert and Bijitte West. sean was the bassist in White Zombie at the time. bob bert played in many famous bands and is a well respected drummer (he was replaced by a girl lizard drummer in Famous Monsters named Girlzilla.). when Rob Zombie started up his Monster label, he started to sign bands all over the place that had anything to do with a monster theme in their act. he called up estrus trying to locate the band FAMOUS MONSTERS because he wanted them to record for MONSTER records. the big joke was that Rob Zombie didnt know that Sean, the bassist in his own band White Zombie, was the main-man behind Famous Monsters. but she didnt want him to know. so we all had a big LAFF over that phone call. the first photos show the band in full make-up. the second photo shows sean and brijitte w/o make-up. bob is too ugly to ever show without his monster make-up. so sad.
