You see, mass producing clothing is a challenge as it is. The human body varies a lot between two subjects. So they do the best they can based on height and weight. Fat is a pain in the ass to work with, though. Artists know this. While the human skeleton and muscle layers are relatively predictable, the way that fat sits is hard to predict. Two people of the same height with the same body fat percentage might look entirely different. This means that they cant just alter a few measurements and have things work out like it does with thin or muscular people. Companies cant make plus size clothing ACTUALLY intended to accommodate plus size people simply because what accommodates -your- size might not accommodate someone else of the same size. So, they just increase the size of what they have and hope for the best. The truth sucks, but its not just about the big, bad fashion industry. Its about the human physique and companies simply not being able to please everyone.
