#clothnappyAMA Emma McPherson asked: Hi my son wears tots bots easy fits in the day with booster. He is an Olympic widdler!. They are now getting tight especially at the top of the leg. Do any other companies do larger nappies similar to easy fit? I know I can remove booster but that wont work at nursery as they have set change times. He isnt ready for potty training. Thank you. (He is 20 months and weighs about 24lbs which means tots bots should be fine. As far as Im aware they dont do a larger size.) Heres our answer: TotsBots easyfits should fit fine until about 35lbs, or around the age of potty training for the majority of babies. I am concerned that hes outgrowing them so early, as although there can be some variation, its not common for them to become tight so early. Based on his age (20 months) and weight (24lbs), hes on about the 40th percentile for boys, so Im guessing hes not very chubby, and shouldnt be outgrowing the nappies so young. Although I am happy to keep discussing this with you, there are some things you can do to make the fit a little better. The booster which youre adding will help keep in some of that Olympic standard wee - and we recommend folding it in half and positioning it at the front of the pocket, as thats where most boys tend to set. This means youre taking bulk out of the rest of the nappy, and could help keep the fit slim. Its also always worth bearing in mind that the leg hole size is controlled by the resizing poppers at the front which resize it, and by the velcro which adjusts the waist fit. If you fasten this tight, it causes the leg holes to cross over and fasten tightly. So it may be worth loosening this. The sizing on a TotsBots nappy is a very standard fit - and no standard birth-to-potty nappies will be that much bigger. However, if youre happy to switch to a slightly different style, you could always try their bamboozle stretch in a size 3. Although its a two-piece nappy, because its made out of bamboo it is very good at absorbing and retaining moisture, so you will find that you can get a slimmer fit because you need less fabric. So this may be a good option for a heavy wetter, and the size 3 has poppers on the front, so it will popper down to fit now, and continue fitting your little boy for quite some time. Alternatively, if you want a all-in-one, the Fuzzibunz large pocket nappy is a very generous fit, and you can use bamboo inserts instead of the microfibre ones it usually comes with, to again get more absorbancy without adding too much bulk.
