It is passing strange to me that some wild horse advocates are saying that PZP is an alternative to roundup when the BLM continues to do roundups anyway and at no point have ever said they would stop roundups and rely on PZP ! There is no either/or situation so that roundups + use of PZP can only accelerate the speed of our wild horses genetic extinction. Anne Novak is quite right to say that wild horse advocates should be united in denouncing both roundups and the use of PZP for this reason. All that suggesting the alternative of PZP does is reinforce the BLM lie that wild horses are doubling in population in four years. That is impossible given the fact that every mare does not foal each year and half of all foals die in their first year. Moreover, of course, older horses die each year - some along with foals because of the roundups themselves ! The truth of the matter is that the wild horses need back their land which the BLM continues to sell or lease to cattle herds, mining and fracking. There are no overpopulating wild horses. There are overpopulating profiteers getting rich on public land while destroying it and wiping out all our wildlife in the process !
