community ASUP STRIKE UPDATE. We can authoritatively confirm that the hierarchy of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic are having a drastic meeting going on now in FCT Abuja. Report has it that the main agenda of the meeting is to determine the next line of action toward ensuring their demands are met by the government on their next appointment with the Federal government representative on May 22nd. We were also made to understand that ASUP are also worried about the students whose academics activities have being on a halt as a result of the on-goimg strike action and that they {students} are going to be considered in the next plan. However our source warned that the chances that the strike would be called off within the next few weeks are slim. Thus students should not be too expectant at least for now.FRM SAMKELLY
