copied and pasted from a comment I made regarding a friends status about extremist religious crimes.. as Christians our eyes are really in the wrong place...were looking for the anti-christ outside of Christianity, but the only place where we read the actual word anti-christ in the bible is in Johns letters, where he consistently refers to insiders...on that basis, i dont believe the anti-christ is a non-christian, i believe hes a false christian I also believe he will initially appear as a saviour figure, and may even be instrumental in dissolving the current religious conflicts...but in exchange for his benevolence he will seek allegiance from the whole world (and get it, see Revelation 13 and 14) and although a religious leader (he is worshipped) will seek temporal control as well, and he will get it
