(courtesy of Cheesegear from the OOTS forums) Primarchs as a D&D group. Lion was the first player to the table, put one of highest stats in Int, picked up 1st Level Rogue for the Skill Points, and then went straight Fighter from some reason. During the first part of the game, Lion was cool cause he had a bunch of skills. But, after the opening sessions, everyone else who didnt take crap classes started pulling ahead. But Int-based Fighters are cool with Combat Reflexes and stuff...Oh Lion, you still suck. Deal more damage. Leman Russ really wanted to be a Barbarian, but the GM said that he had to be Lawful, and he pouted. So he decided to play a Ranger and pick up a pair of wolves as his Animal Companions. And also, you cant have Arcane or Divine Magic. Again, Russ pouted, and put his 9 into Wisdom cause if he couldnt cast spells, then his didnt need WIS. He then picked up the Iron Will feats to bring his Will checks back up to par. Unfortunately, his WIS still sucks, and his Sense Motive checks arent worth a damn, so he gets lied to a lot and generally just goes along with whatever hes told to do. Russ basically played a Barbarian in all but name, and, since he was Lawful, he decided that he and Dorn would be best friends and follow the GMs rails together. Russ player just wants to kick in the door and kill things. He has Favoured Enemy (Other Players). Everyone at the table asked why he had done this, and he said he was friends with the GM and he knew that the GM was planning on running a second party that was allowed to be Chaotic and/or Evil, and Russ wanted to be prepared. Dorn rolled the best stats in the whole party. He only had one roll below 16. Since he could MAD, he wanted to be a Paladin, but the GM reminded him that theres no Divine Magic, so, instead he went for a couple of levels in Monk, and then, seeing how terrible Lion was, he took some Dungeoncrasher levels instead of normal Fighter. Dorn then decided that he didnt need a DEX Score, and put on the heaviest armour he could find. Monk/Dungeoncrasher isnt the best build, but, with his stats, Dorn could play anything he wanted, and he wasnt the kind of person to outshine the rest of the party. Dorn just wants to play on the GMs rails. Later on, Dorn realises that with his Heavy Armour, his Monk levels arent really doing anything, and asks if he can retrain his Monk levels to Knight levels and he can roleplay as a Monk no matter what class he is. Dorn then picks up Shock Trooper and builds an uber-charger. Guilliman really, really, really wanted to play a Favoured Soul, but, the GM put his foot down. Fine. So he put all his points into INT and CHA, rolled a Marshall and instantly declared himself the leader of the party. Then he started rolling Diplomacy checks on all the NPCs on how great he was. Except Guilliman sucks as a roleplayer, and didnt actually say anything, he just rolled dice and got high numbers. The GM just went along with it cause this guy was a jerk. While Guilliman was cool with the NPCs, everyone knows that Diplomacy doesnt really work on other PCs and the whole group hates him. Guilliman eventually got sick of the GMs rails, and decided to split the party much to Dorns annoyance. The GM warned that Guilliman was in danger of an alignment shift to Neutral, but, he didnt care. Sanguinius is a dirty power-gamer and heard No Arcane or Divine Magic, and brought the Psionics book from home. And was like Rules are rules and rolled a Psychic Warrior, and decided that if he couldnt be a Wizard, he was going to use a Template that gave him permanent, perfect Flight. Dorn was a full believer in the Stormwind fallacy, and Guilliman was just a jerk. But, even they both agreed that Sanguinius had rolled a pretty BS character. To compensate, the GM keeps throwing Sanguinius into some of the hardest situations, solo. Kahn was actually a bit smarter than Russ, and instead of tanking his WIS to make the GM happy, he played the Spell-Less variant Ranger and kept his WIS actually at a decent level. He then used his Animal Companion as his Mount - instead of whatever dumb stuff Russ was doing - and built an ubercharger. Since Kahn always missed out on Sessions, the GM gave him solo adventures over Skype, so that when he eventually does make it to a Session, hell be the same level as the others. The GM always remembers to include the effects of Kahns solo actions in the main story though. Ferrus built a straight Fighter with some Crafting Feats. Unfortunately, Ferrus got himself killed early in the campaign because he didnt know how to play and thought that Fighter Bonus Feats were actually worth something. Corax rolls a Scout to move fast and deal Skirmish damage. Yeah, thats great Corax, but, what else can you do? Anyone can deal damage. Corax is super emo cause the rest of the party outshines him all the time. The only player more salty than Corax is Lion. Cause Lion sucks. Ferrus re-rolled as Vulkan. Except instead of rolling a Fighter, he rolled an Artificer because he still wanted to Craft stuff, and he put more points into INT. Vulkan isnt the best combat character, but, all his stuff is Masterwork and Keen so that should make up for it. Ferrus also learned his lession, and asked if his new character - Vulkan - could have Contingency; Resurrection, and the GM agreed. Everyone at the table thought that this was BS since there was no magic allowed. But, Ferrus had already died and he was new, and was probably going to get himself killed even more by doing dumb stuff. Since he was new, the rest of the party allowed Vulkans character to be nearly invincible.
