However, in caseofDiploma in Education (Special Education)andB.ED (Special Education), a courserecognizedby the Rehabilitation Council ofIndia (RCI)only shall be considered.Trainingto beundergone: A person with D.Ed(SpecialEducation) or qualification shallundergo, afterappointment an NCTErecognized 6-monthSpecial Programme inElementaryEducation.The minimumqualifications referredabove apply to teachersof Languages, SocialStudies/Social Science,Mathematics, Scienceetc. In respect ofteachers for PhysicalEducation, the minimumqualification normsfor Physical Educationteachers referred to inNCTE Regulation, dated3rd November, 2001(as amended from time totime) shall beapplicable. For teachers of ArtEducation, CraftEducation, Home Science,Work Education, etc.the existing eligibilitynorms prescribed by theState Governmentsand other schoolmanagements shall beapplicable till such timethe NCTE lays downthe minimumqualifications in respect ofsuchteachers.Candidates who are appearingin thefinal year of Bachelor Degree inEducation orDiploma in Elementary Educationetc. areprovisionally admitted and theirCTETCertificate shall be valid only on passingtheaforesaid Examinations.The candidatenothaving any of the above qualification shallnotbe eligible for appearing in CentralTeacherEligibility Test.The candidate shouldsatisfyhis/her eligibility before applying andshall bepersonally responsible in case he/ sheis noteligible to apply as per the giveneligibilitycriteria. It is to be noted that if acandidate hasbeen allowed to appear in theCentral TeacherEligibility Test it does notimply that thecandidate’s eligibility has beenverified.
