For one thing, spiritual truth challenges the ego’s presumption that it is sovereign. This is seen socially in the rising popularity of secularism, which seeks to eliminate all references to Divinity or spiritual truth, or even the basics of morality or ethics. The current appeal of relativism (cal. 180-190) is that it subserves the ego’s wish to reign supreme by virtue of the statement that there is no absolute truth at all. This currently promoted philosophy is actually based on nihilism (cal. 50) and is the rationale for the social promotion of nonintegrity by political distortion. Truth therefore has opponents from both within and outside religion. Q: The total content of the mind, including its memory, is vast and includes multimillions of bits of information as well as a dazzling multitude of complex operational functions. The task of overcoming its dominance seems overwhelming and even intimidating. A: It does indeed seem like a Herculean task when viewed from a linear perspective; however, the foundations of its content and operations are similar to a computer’s motherboard that, when disconnected, unplugs entire, sizeable sets of operations. One could also say that, analogously, each level of consciousness is orchestrated by its own predominant energy attractor field (see “nonlinear dynamics” in Power vs. Force, [Hawkins, 1995]), which is thereby the operational ‘motherboard’ for that field. ►To choose to forgive by giving up the ‘juice’ of justified resentments and grudges disconnects all the associated thoughts and grievances from them, along with their multiple rationalizations and memories.◄ Thus, each level has its basic props, and when these props are surrendered, the level no longer dominates. By removing the motherboards of each level, one witnesses that everything merely is just what it is, and judgmentalism is surrendered to God. Each level has its associated negative feelings, including guilt, shame, fear, etc., so removing its fulcrum allows the whole stack to collapse. Each step along the way is self-rewarding and reinforces dedication to the process. With removal of the positionality that results in a whole level of consciousness, the negative energy disappears and is replaced by the positive spiritual energies. As the process proceeds, there is therefore less and less resistance. Q: What is the most useful information to know? Is there a major key understanding? A: Resistance subsides when there is a clear understanding that what is being surrendered is not of intrinsic value but is instead imagined to be of value solely because of the juice or payoff the ego extracts from that position. The principle of willingness need only be applied to the ego’s payoff and not to the object or condition desired. One can ask oneself the question, “Is this worth giving up God for?” Thus, ego positionality has a price, which is where the willingness should be addressed.
