dance cant be a sport if everyone is scared to have an opinion. like, really people. i always get mad that football players and basketball players make SO much money. but they wouldnt be making that money if all the fans were like... oh everyones good, everyones special, i love all the teams, every team has their unique qualities. WHAT? nobody pays for that. fans dont. they want competition. they want a tough battle. they want passion. they want rules. and guidelines. and skill. and expectation. and record breaking. thats when people tune in. and we are sitting around being all like... its not about winning. ITS ABOUT WINNING. news update: competition is about winning. so cut the crap. in dance nobody says out loud when something is bad. its not allowed. i think we need some refs out there on stage blowing their whistles when somebody screws up. and they could do that touchdown gesture when someone does something great. and like maybe some announcers giving their critiques of the choreography and costume out loud. and after the routine is done the judges hold up their scores so people can see exactly what each judge scored. and we can boo the judges if we hate their score. and like... when the competing studios or teams enter the building, we can scream and applaud for our team and sing mean songs to the other team. oh and when there is a dancer out there trying to balance for a long time or execute a difficult turn sequence we could taunt her and try to make her mess up. if we implemented some of this stuff, more dads would come to competitions. and maybe we could get some sponsors like wheaties or frosted flakes or something. and we could start selling tickets to competitions. and it would be on the tv stations. and strangers would start wearing shirts with our names on it. possibilities are endless.
