days like this, when your words, and your words, and your words from behind the prison walls lift me up and teach me again and again how to live better, how to question more fully, how to develop strength for this never-ending battle. days like this, when the day before I felt spit up and torn down and then you told me to go on and you showed me how to step more upright toward a better tomorrow. days like this, when i think maybe our voices together, but your voices more importantly, could be like the trumpets in Jericho and tear down all of this hefty, human-made sorrow and institutional driven hate and harm. i want more days like this.
