did this really happen? part of a weekend festival of performances July 14, 2013, at the wonderful gallery Vyrsodepsio in Athens, run by Elli Papakonstantinou with Tilemachos Moussas B, our evening of poetry/performance and music organized by Dimosthenis Agrafiotis with Tilemachos Moussas Trio, Michel Collet Colletcopy Colletcopy and Valentine Verhaghe. Demosthenes opens, with the musicians; I end up on stage for what seems an awfully long time, from about 10 min. in, with the trio and a recording Id made that morning of tsitsikas —cicadas— on the island Hydra; then Michel, Valentine, and various collaborative performances. we were on the roof outside, people arrived early and stayed late, everyone from kids to old folks; all this was free, porous, and open: a fully staged theatrical presentation was going on in the room thru the corridor behind us, with live orchestra culled from the Athens Symphony — two of the guys from the orchestra, including the trumpeter who appears here, came and sat in with the band; (not on tape, the tenor player who sat in for Coltranes Countdown); multiple performances and installations were happening in the many different rooms and outdoors from this former leather tannery in Athens old industrial Votanikos neighborhood. Ive forgotten the name of the performance artist who took the video. charmed evening..
