did you know that 85% of women wear the wrong size of bra? you should be professionally measured for bras every 6 months. this is offered for free at most lingerie stores & departments. it is 2 quick measurements that can be taken over the top of your clothes; once around the center of your breast over your nipples (cup size), & one either over the top of your breasts or directly under your breasts (band size). this is just a starting point though, you should always try on bras to ensure the size is correct. have a professional check the way the bra is fitting on your body. remember different styles (demi, push ups, balconet, etc.) will all fit different, so although you may be one size in one style, try on any bra before you buy it, even if you feel certain of your size. also, remember that all brands have different sizes, so if you shop at different stores, your size may fluctuate. a bras lifespan is also approximately 6 months. it is good to replace your lingerie that often to ensure it is supporting you correctly. it is also important to take proper care of your bras. hand wash with a little bit of detergent once a week, & lay flat to dry. never hang dry, this can cause the lining to pucker over & stay that way. never put a bra in the washer or dryer. an incorrect bra size can cause back, shoulder, & breast pain, blocked ducts in breastfeeding women, torn tissue, & many other health issues. take care of your pair!
