discipline for a child with autism. Children really do need to be guided into how to behave, especially when out in public. If discipline is handled properly, it can be positive and motivating for everyone. a) Remember that positive reinforcement is much more effective than negative. b) Parents must be in agreement on what behaviours are to be disciplined and what is to be overlooked. c) In the family both parents should share in discipline and not be put onto the shoulders of just one of the parents. d) It is good for parents to talk first about each of them feels about discipline.
