do you feel secure 67:16-18 Surat Al-Mulk Do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it would sway? Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning? And already had those before them denied, and how [terrible] was My reproach Ibn Mas’ood (R.A) is reported that, “A MAN WILL BE APPROACHED IN HIS GRAVE FROM HIS LEGS AND FROM HIS CHEST AND THEN FROM HIS HEAD. AND EACH TIME THIS SURAH WILL DEFEND HIM BY SAYING, ‘YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO HIM, HE USED TO RECITE SURAH MULK Ibn Mas’ood (R.A) further states, “IT IS CALLED, ‘AL- MAANI’AH’. FOR IT PROTECTS FROM THE PUNISHMENT OF THE GRAVE (Mustadrak Al-Hakim vol.2 pg.498). Al-Hakim has classified this narration as Sahih (authentic) The Prophet Muhammad (Salla-Allahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) said: “THERE IS A SURAH IN THE QUR’AN WHICH IS ONLY THIRTY VERSES (SURAH AL-MULK). IT DEFENDED WHOEVER RECITED IT UNTIL IT PUTS HIM INTO PARADISE” Sahih Al-Jami’ 1/680, At- Tabrani Jabir (R.A) said, “IT WAS THE CUSTOM OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SALLA-ALLAHU ‘ALAYHI WA SALLAM) NOT TO GO TO SLEEP UNTIL HE HAD READ TABAARAKAL-LAZE E HI BI-YADIHIL-MULK U (SURAH AL-MULK).” Ahmad, Tirmidhi & At- Darimi ALSO 17:68 Al-Isrā Then do you feel secure that [instead] He will not cause a part of the land to swallow you or send against you a storm of stones? Then you would not find for yourselves an advocate
