doupine/ ART SCAMS Be aware of an Art Scam operating in the Bathurst and surrounding region. Young persons (male and female) with an accent are using a plain white van and going door to door selling oil paintings. They are real oil paintings offered for between $150-$200. The offenders are using the sales pitch that they are paintings done by local students and artists, and the money will go to supporting them. This is a scam. The paintings are sourced from China for approximately $10. Some of the artworks are identified as those available on the linked website. Be aware of any door to door sales persons who do not have identification, or who attend on a Sunday or other unreasonable hour that is restricted for the conduction of door to door sales. Buyer Beware!
