drove into town for groceries (went during the game to avoid traffic), remembered it had been precipitating earlier and might be slick, so i slowed down just before i went around a curve, and there were two deer right in my lane! i slammed on the brakes and managed to stop in time. they did the old deer-in-headlights thing and stared at me a minute before they bolted. good thing i had just slowed down!
