Guest Post from Mimi Barbour Cherry Loaf – Favourite Xmas Recipe 13/4 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/3 tsp salt ½ cup butter (I use Margarine) 1-cup sugar 3 eggs separated (beat egg whites) 1-cup maraschino cherries cut into pieces ½ cup milk ½ tsp almond flavouring Sprinkle cherries with a little of the measured flour. Mix like a batter cake. Soften margarine; add in sugar, flavoring and egg yolks. Then alternately add in some flour and then some milk until all has been used. Then fold beaten egg whites into the batter at the end. Mix in cherries. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan about 375 oven for 30 mins and then turn down to 350 till done approx another 20-30 mins.
