e-bola: Possibility of a Conspiracy ---------------------------------- Science and technology in recent times have been very great. The world has experienced great discoveries that often makes life easier but riskier or safer and scaring depending on the aspect you are faced with. We have had e-mails, e-transact, e-test/exams and to me the recent is e-bola. What is e-bola? For those staying in Lagos and Abuja, you will be familiar with the word bola which means waste dump or refuse. l coined the term e-bola from that word and it means waste that where generated else where and exported to Africa. Before you accuse me of shifting blame to the western world, sometime last year (if my date is correct) there was an alarm that a ship load of waste was heading for Nigeria shore and relevant agencies where told to be on the alert! The reason is not farfetched from the fact that these western countries have strict environmental laws and with the low level of corruption. It becomes difficult for the companies manufacturing these waste to dump it anyhow in their country of production. So the safest destination is often AFRICA! Why Africa...? the basic reasons are 1- its the only place in the world where one person will happily sell the continent for him/her selfish interest alone. 2- its a place where we dont ask questions and we dont do research. Nobody will ask what the substances contain? what threat it can bring to the community and why was it brought to Africa in the first place..? My fear of conspiracy- These information bothers me and if you have better responses please enlighten me. 1- ebola, they say was named after a river in Congo where it was first found. Was it water borne? why didnt they name HIV after the country where it was first discovered? Are they trying to give Africa a negative publicity 2- If its really through bush meat, bats and monkey how did it spread from Guinea to Liberia and Siere-lone? Did the infected bats and monkeys go on pilgrimage in these countries from Congo where it was first found? or is somebody trying to justify our Apish myth and kill our love for bush meat? 3- Sawyer was an ECOWAS delegate coming for a meeting in NIGERIA and the news has it that he was under surveillance in his country but he escaped! James Bond right? how can someone with such position leave the country unnoticed? How can a fleeing citizen be received by another ECOWAS staff in NIGERIA? The airport footage shows he was sick, why didnt ECOWAS notify the Nigerian office so that caution should be taken when handling him(sawyer)? The nurse that had contact with sawyer contacted it and was suppose to be under quarantine, but they are telling us again that she escaped to Enugu and now 27persons are under surveillance in Enugu How are we sure that the over a hundred and fifty persons under surveillance in Lagos are under the watchful eyes of our government?
