Whatever the sinus thing is that is going around has finally gotten to me: low fever and a head that feels three feet thick. I came in early today to get done what I need to get done (deadlines, you know). I plan on heading home when my stuff is turned in and take some meds to at least get rid of the fever. Now let’s see—is it starve a cold and feed a fever or feed a cold and starve a fever? ANTIQUES OR JUST PREVIOUSLY OWNED JUNK. Lisa and I are heading to Round Top, Texas early next week to see what we can see. My sister-in-law has a booth at this big event where there are miles and miles of stuff. Fortunately for me, my little car can only hold so much (but it is surprising how much will fit!) CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING CANCELED. There are no really pressing matters that need to come before the church council, so we will skip the meeting which was scheduled for April 1. WHAT THEY REALLY NEED. Everyday items are much needed by people we want to serve. With this in mind we are collecting toiletries. Consider adding one or more of the following to you shopping list, bring it to the church office, and we will see to it that it goes to people in need: toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish soap, body soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner and trash bags. LOL (LOVE OUT LOUD). Our contemporary worship service is on Saturday evenings at 5:30. The service is called “Love Out Loud (LOL)” and features contemporary music and relaxed family worship. Tim Barnes brings a simple message and currently is doing a series on the “Scandal of Grace.” Tim Powell leads our music. I hope that you will consider checking out what is going on at Saint Luke’s on Saturday evenings. THIS SUNDAY. The texts include 1 Samuel 16.1-13, Psalm 23, Ephesians 5.8-14, John 9.1-9. It is the 4th Sunday in Lent. The Sermon is called: “20/20 Vision” and will suggest that we need to see things that way God sees things. IN CLOSING. A mother tells the following story: We were taking six children on a camping trip. I drove the lead car with our gear, and my husband followed in the station wagon. At a tollbooth, I realized that we hadnt divided the cash supply, and my husband didnt have any money. I paid a double toll, explaining to the woman attendant, Im paying for the car behind me. He has all those children and no money. Without cracking a smile, she replied, Good! Keep him that way. AND FINALLY.
