early on in my musical career i had the chance to sit in a nice office on music row in nashville, TN while listening to a seasoned nashville music executive explain what had gone wrong with the system... he said, back when the legends were making their way to the tops of the country charts they had very few needs... if a man could make a decent living, live in a nice house in the suburbs, send his kids to good public schools, eat steak a couple of times a week and have the friends over for scotch now and again... well that was living! now its 15 thousand square feet houses with multiple garages with cars and trucks and atvs and swimming pools and nannies and chefs and private schools and lavish vacations and now... well they gotta feed the monkey... --- i dont know how true all of that is, but it did make me think and ive obviously never forgotten that little moment in time... my family was growing and we had moved to the burbs and we felt like the luckiest little country-fried east TX folks in the county... I am a lucky man! thank you all for helping me do more with music than i ever dreamt possible! PS. island time with the fam and LJ and more starts tomorrow... ill send some pics with our feet in the sand! Love Yall!
