eastmeetswest Job Description Job Title: Program Officer, Philippines, East Meets West Foundation Working sector: Humanitarian assistance Position Full-Time, based in Manila with constant travel to various locations in the Philippines Reporting to Philippine Country Director Purpose • Manage, coordinate and implement all the activities of the program • Provide professional monitoring, development and mentoring services by assisting the staff of partner hospitals in preparing and implementing the protocols for the Breath of Life program in the Philippines. • Supporting partner facilities in acquiring the knowledge and skills so that they can competently collect and analyze health and equipment data. Duties a) Assist in the preparation and administration of the clinical and technical trainings for the partner facilities and ensure that participants have grasped the knowledge and skills required for the operation of the EMW equipment b) Prepare work plan and work activities c) Ensure timely submission of technical and activity reports in agreed format and frequency d) Visit partner hospitals to: • Follow-up the initial training given and ensure that medical staff observe protocols discussed during trainings • Testing medical equipment to ensure that all parts are working properly • Provide supplementary trainings on-site in selected hospitals, as directed • Administer 3 and 12-month interviews to the medical staff • Provide ad hoc clinical or technical advise through phone or other media e) Provide the Philippine office with program advice/guidance as required f) Assess the needs and possibilities for future intervention in the project areas g) Take leadership of the monitoring and evaluation of facilities h) Assist with Quality Improvement activities i) Reports to the Country Director for any updates and developments related to work j) Performs related duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field • Previous Humanitarian experience, an advantage • Clinical and biomed background also an advantage • Must be willing to travel to various places in the Philippines, including insecure areas • Preferably with experience in leadership roles, and/or as a trainer • Must be fluent in Filipino and English.
