edhāsūktam Kṛṣṇa-Yajurveda -Taittirīya-Āraṇyaka - IV.10.41-44 Every person is endowed with high intellectual capacity. The Vedas consider this capacity as a manifestation of the deity called Medhā Devī. In every person, this medhā-śakti is a vital element for progress in education, science, religion, and spirituality. The Medhā-Sūktam comprises six mantras invoking Medhā Devī. Traditionally, it is recited before commencing the study of Vedānta. Medhā-Sūktam containing six mantras is the 41-44 anuvākas of the 4th chapter (prapāṭhaka) of Taittirīya Āraṇyaka. The 1st and 2nd mantras are in Triṣṭubh metre (11x4 = 44 syllables), and 4th -6th are in Anuṣṭubh metre (8x4 = 32 syllables.
