eh eh eh am trying to embrace the scarier produce of the season ... kohlrabi knollensellerie / celeriac pastinaken / parsnips ( looks like yellow or purple carrots ) petersiliewürzel / parsley root ( looks like a snow white carrot ) schwarzwürzel / salsify ( have not found this yet ) kohlrübe / rutabaga ( swede ) and other rübe / turnips wirz / savoy cabbage kratuerstiel / swiss chard grünkohl / kale catalogna and the ever scary looking black truffle ( buying another today from my friend ) trying to focus on eating seasonal, local produce ... vegetable ( + fruit ) made an amazing gratin last night : potato, leek, celeriac, and the parsley root ... mmm i honestly never even considered eating these things before, but now that i am trying to lose weight and am convinced that vegetables are my best friends in this endeavour, i am fascinated by these scary looking root vegetables and greens eh eh eh ... hope to inspire someone else to do the same BON APPETIT / EN GUETE gemuese.ch/Saisonkalender
