ehow/facts_4815208_nfl-age-limit-rules.html There is pressure from many different sources for Professional Athletics, particularly the NFL and NBA, to set age limits and constantly try to increase them; most other professional sports do not have age limits. Im willing to bet that we will see the day where a individual would have to graduate from college in order to be eligible for the NFL and NBA Drafts. Why do you think this occurs, heres my opinion? The players in the NFL are 65% Black and in the NBA over 80% of their players are Black. Certain people are angry that through entertainment and athletics, people of color are achieving such levels of success and making so much money. Making so much money, but not the traditional way we were tough; college, job, and work yourself to death. By constantly changing or increasing the standard, they are prolonging and sometimes preventing Black Men from becoming professionals, productive, and tax paying citizens. Football and basketball are the two sports that can be inexpensively played anywhere. If more cities with high populations of Black People had the infrastructure (baseball fields, etc) for them to play baseball, tennis, golf, hockey, etc, those sports would also consist of mostly Blacks. Since they dont, you wont see age limits and other standards placed on these sports.
