eleven+ years ago i was diagnosed with having HIV.and through many tough and unstable years i maintained a certain level of health but not always treating myself the best.however,two years ago i met a wonderful human being who was placed into my life to be my nurse practitioner...he,unlike my drs,was able to spend more time with me during visits and he actually started to see how john ticked.our dr/patient trust grew quickly and i was rooting for him like i think he was rooting for me...today was one of those days for me that i couldnt have asked to be made any better.dr randall,as i call him,allowed me to stand by him as he gave a lecture on HIV to new students who will soon be nurse practitioners themselves.however the first part of the session was me sitting with 20+ medical students,answering their curious/onion-peeling questions as one prodded after the other.i was helping in my own way.allowing them to become familiar with a co-infected patient...i was candid and unashamed.today i felt apart of something and got to see a different side to the guy that ive only seen during office hours...thanks again Randall for the uplifting day
