Someone contacted my wife at your request and another HVAC contractor (Solaris - Santa Ana-714-751-8090) was sent to our house and reported back that the condensation line which was repaired incorrectly the first time was in fact mechanically done the correct way. (the wrong repair was done right) So we still have water pooling on the side of the house from the condensation from the Air conditioning, these pools of water are now forming slick mold on the side of the house. Someone could easily slip. No AC system in our neighborhood works this way. This is a botched repair. We had licensed contractor Benjamin Franklin out which educated us on how this repair should be made. We also called a few other contractors to get a consensus on these types of things. The wall should have been opened and the line that evacuates the the condensation to the sewer via the sink should have been repaired. This line (pipe) also connects to an overflow line in case there of overflow. Your contractor came out and said we could repair this problem by routing the pipe directly from the AC unit to the outside of the house. Previously it was routed into the wall where it went into the sink and the backup line went outside of the house. - see here a picture of how condensate lines should be routed -inspectapedia/aircond/1633s.jpg I would appreciate your soonest response to bring a close to this. We were contacted yesterday and told our claim was denied. Please help us with this... this is not the right way to treat a customer. I know as the owner of a small business for 20 years if I acted in any way like I have been treated I would have been out of business years ago. Sincerely, Henry Majoue On 07/31/14 3:09 PM, Steven S. Please read string below (detailed explanation from my husband below). We contacted numerous people at First Am in addition to the vendors that you contract with and have gotten nowhere. Our AC condensation unit pipe system needed repair and it was incorrectly repaired by Marina HVAC. Water should never be directed outside a frequently used pathway. It is now building slim, which we can slip on. I am specifically worried that my 4 year old will slip and fall. We are asking that First Am stand behind their contractors/vendors and come back and repair this the way it should have been done in the first place(directed through the wall and to a proper drain). You can look up our claim information and history through our last name and address. Majoue, 8 Columbine, Trabuco Canyon, 92679 Thanks for your prompt response. If you aren’t the correct person, please tell me who can resolve this. This has been all consuming and both of us work and don’t have time to be full time researchers of how proper work should be completely. We are extremely dissatisfied with both First American and the vendors you “partner” with. Please advise. They should have gone through the existing drainage system in the wall that leads to the sink drainage. They asked us what we wanted and we thought that this drain was going be overflow and NOT the main water outlet for the condensation unit. Bad, bad, bad work.
